Nice, how does it compare to the NA?

So you have zero money to get through the month but you bought another car? Interesting priorities.

Na needs a lot of work to be a viable car again. It’ll be up for sale soon ish
![]() 09/03/2016 at 10:32 |

That is the plan.

“I now have four fucking cars.”
But how many function properly?
![]() 09/03/2016 at 10:33 |

I absolutely love them. from what I’ve read theyre stupid heavy but I don’t care.

in fairness to him, I have 6 bikes, and only 3 (MAYBE 4) work right
![]() 09/03/2016 at 10:33 |

Totally different planet. Only ways it’s worse is less interior room, mushy clutch, and the six speed just is ever so slightly not as nice

My priorities are the best priorities.

Titanium gray, nice. Trade your NA for a set of coilovers.

Wasn’t the plan to sell your 3 to buy the NC?

Congrats, now thin out your fleet.

Mmmmmf. I miss my Miata so much.
So so very jealous of you right now.
Like, Ten Commandments level of covetousness.

Hey, when a good car comes along, sometimes you have to pounce before your prey is lost.
![]() 09/03/2016 at 11:26 |

Well yes, but he can still sell the other three after buying the one.
...
Or can he.

I have my doubts. When I had six cars, it took me forever to just sell one of them willingly.

Rookie. I have 9. 4 work.

Stop fixing cars by buying more.

This. My dad loaned me the money. Went up cash in hand on my lunch break, haggled. And bought the car. Three other people were interested in it.

New fuel pump is going in the riv today and it’s getting listed. Then the NA

5spd swap is easy. And better IMO also an exedy OEM clutch is like $100 and makes it feel much better.

Congrats. There is something to be said for buying interesting transportation that isn’t a project car.

With this reliable NB he’ll save enough money to fix the other ones, and maybe even eat.

Welcome to NB2 Land, enjoy your stay! By the way, here’s the Miata-Wiki page for the double-din Bose radio in case you want to learn more about it and learn hidden features like its Diagnostic Test Mode .

Have a look at the bushing at the bottom of the shifter. The hardest part is popping out the ashtray, everything else is just nuts and bolts. You can replace everything including the two boots for about $100.

Oooh, cool! I actually need to get a new radio. My LCD is coming apart and only works if I push on it, and even then some segments don’t work at all.
![]() 09/03/2016 at 20:42 |
|
Haha, that’s what mine is doing right now! I heard the OEM soldering on the back is really thin and it cracks apart over time. I need to find a cheap backup circuit board (by the way, the LCD and board is a one-piece design) just in case I fuck mine up trying to lay down some fresh solder lines. Also, because the head unit is modular, you can retrofit in the an OEM 6-disc CD player from another Mazda or replace the cassette with a mini-disc player.
![]() 09/03/2016 at 21:06 |

I already have the 6 disc unit :D And damn, these bose units are hard to find on eBay.

Most of the time, they’re always sold whole as a “Miata radio” and the Bose part is rarely mentioned. I don’t want to buy the whole damn heavy thing, I just want the delicate motherboard! I thought about upgrading to the later silver unit but it I’d be constantly annoyed that the SAT button doesn’t actually work since Mazda’s attempt with Sirius Satellite Radio failed.
